How to Get 1,000 Salespeople for Free

Ten years ago, only large companies could afford a sales team of 100 people. Today, even a small business can have over 1,000 people selling its products without paying a single salary. Yet most brands still aren't taking advantage of it.

It sounds too good to be true, but that's exactly what TikTok Shop's affiliate ecosystem has made possible. But how exactly does it work?

It all starts with the Yellow Basket, the shoppable product link creators can add to their videos and livestreams after joining a brand's affiliate program. When someone taps the basket and buys something, the creator earns a commission. If nobody buys, the brand pays nothing.

That's the key difference.

Traditional influencer marketing requires brands to pay upfront and hope it turns into sales. TikTok Shop affiliates flip that model. Instead of paying for content, brands pay for every sale.

Since creators only earn when they sell, they're naturally drawn to products that sell well. As more affiliates jump on trending products, momentum builds and attracts even more sellers. That opportunity is only growing in the Philippines, where TikTok Shop's creator ecosystem doubled year over year through 2026.

So how do brands achieve this?

It starts with having a product people genuinely love and want to recommend, that’s the most important thing. A great product attracts customers, customers attract creators, and creators bring in even more customers. Don't focus on finding more affiliates, instead put your focus on becoming the product affiliates love.

But of course, you also have to make it worth the creator's time. Offer a competitive commission, give them samples they can work with, but just make sure it doesn’t mess up your margins.
